ASTM A269 TP304 Tube (Pipe) is a seamless or welded austenitic stainless steel tubing intended for general service applications requiring corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties. Grade TP304 is the most widely used stainless steel, containing approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel.

Manufactured in accordance with ASTM A269 specifications, these tubes are supplied in the annealed condition and are commonly used in instrumentation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and low-to-moderate pressure applications. ASTM A269 covers nominal-wall thickness stainless steel tubing for general corrosion-resisting and low or high temperature service. Although often referred to as “pipe” in trade terminology, the specification technically applies to tubing.

  • Nickel (Ni): 8.0 – 11.0%
  • Iron (Fe): Balance

Mechanical Properties (Annealed Condition – Minimum)

  • Tensile Strength: ≥ 515 MPa
  • Yield Strength (0.2% Proof): ≥ 205 MPa
  • Elongation: ≥ 35%
  • Hardness: ≤ 90 HRB (Rockwell B)
